This is the stumbling block for so many plant-curious eaters. If you’ve grown up eating meat and three veg (with cheese on top), flipping your plate can feel overwhelming. But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing, all-at-once. Eating more planted is a process and it starts with one bite. One meal. One swap.⁠

Here’s how to get going:⁠

1. Start with the rainbow 🌈⁠
Fresh fruit and veggies. Think crunchy carrots, sweet strawberries, juicy tomatoes, crisp greens — start with whatever’s in season. Build your meals around these. Roast them, stir-fry them, snack on them. Add them to everything. If it grows from the ground, eat it!⁠

2. Bring on the grains and pulses 🍚🥣⁠
Whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, oats, and barley are hearty, filling, and super versatile. Pair them with lentils, chickpeas, black beans, or butter beans to bring your meals to life. These plant proteins are not only satisfying but also packed with fibre and nutrients. ⁠

3. Swap the dairy 🥛⁠
The non-dairy section means you are spoilt for choice: oat, almond, soy, coconut, macadamia, cashew... they all work super well in your smoothie or on your cereal. The same goes for yoghurt: plant-based versions are creamy, delicious, and come in all the flavours you love. Try a few until you find your fave; we promise it won’t take long. ⁠

Bonus tips to ease into it and upgrade your usuals: ⁠
Spaghetti? Use lentil bolognese. ⁠
Taco night? Go black bean and sweet potato. ⁠
Curry? Coconut milk, pumpkin and chickpeas.⁠

Stock your pantry: Keep tinned tomatoes, legumes, pasta, grains, and spices handy so whipping up a plant-powered meal is a breeze.⁠
