Reflections of 2021
What a ride 2021 has been; how tight have you had to hold on this year to get through?
You might have spent the year with white knuckles not able to loosen your grip in fear of being thrown off and sucked out the other side or you have found a certain acceptance and peace of where you are at and just rolled with the punches as they say.
Despite your grip of the year, here we are again edging towards another new year; a year where we are still no closer to understanding what the hell is going on. And that’s OK because like every year despite you thinking you have it uncontrol; you really have no idea, no one does. We cannot change the past or predict the future, all we have is the power of now.
5 Questions
It’s only natural to have thoughts of reflection of the past year and ideally optimism for the year ahead; you want to feel refreshed as you launch with a new enthusiasm into the new year – you want to embrace opportunity and see progress; you want to have something to talk about, right?
As you move mindfully into new beginnings, ask yourself of 2021:
- What are you most proud of yourself for this year?
- What did you do this year that you’d never done before?
- Which new routine or habit did you adopt that bought more efficiency?
- What did you learn or develop?
- Which goal did you work on, or reach?
We encourage you not to dwell too much on the past, but we do ask that you recognise it; for what has happened makes up your story of who you are today. And today you are strong, resilient, and committed to evolving into the best human being that you can be.
Don’t let today pass without congratulating yourself on the strength you have shown in 2021; telling those close to you that you love them and thanking a stranger for just crossing your path in life.
Wisdom comes alone through suffering
The Meaning of Life
One of the most important questions that you should ask yourself, particularly at this time of year is ‘what is the meaning of life?’
According to ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ the answer to the meaning of life is 42.
The meaning of life isn’t somewhere ‘out there’ rather its ‘within you’; the meaning is you and how you choose to live your life should be based on three values:
- Communication (with yourself and others)
- Understanding (of yourself and others)
- Service (to yourself and others)
Choose Life
Choose to make life an adventure of your own creation; go bolder and wilder into the new year and let’s see where that takes you.
